AeroBarrier is a cutting-edge building-envelope sealing system developed at the University of California, Davis. In a quick, single-step process we pressurize the building and fog in a non-toxic, airborne sealant that is self-guided to every gap — plugging holes as tiny as a human hair up to ½ inch thick.
Unlike traditional air sealing, there are no caulk guns and no guesswork. A computer monitors envelope leakage in real time and stops the process the instant your target ACH is reached — then prints a certificate to prove it.

Non-toxic, water-borne, and built to last
AeroBarrier uses a water-borne acrylic sealant that has been used as a fluid-applied air barrier for years. It meets the strictest certifications in the industry.
No Off-Gassing
Low VOC with no off-gassing. The area is safe to enter without PPE within 20–30 minutes of application completion.
50-Year Durability
Third-party lab testing confirms the seal withstands a simulated 50-year durability test with virtually no degradation or loss of seal.

Set Up Equipment
AeroBarrier equipment arrives at the job site by trailer — fully mobile and portable. The setup includes a compressor, generator, blower door, emitters, hoses, and the AeroBarrier machine itself.

Prep the Area
Any areas that won't be sealed are taped or covered. All designed openings — ducts, electrical boxes, plumbing — are covered prior to sealing. Vertical surfaces like walls and windows need no covering. Emitters are then distributed throughout the space.

Pressurize the Space
A blower door pressurizes the building. From that point, the computer takes over — controlling temperature, pressure, humidity, and sealant distribution automatically throughout the entire process.

Seal in Real Time
The aerosolized sealant is self-guided to the edges of every visible and invisible leak, accumulating across gap surfaces until they're fully sealed. The computer monitor displays ACH improvement in real time, giving you full control over your desired tightness level.

Certify the Results
Run a final blower door test to verify the sealing results. At the end of the process, you receive a printed AeroBarrier Certificate showing your pre- and post-application leakage readings. Guaranteed results, on paper.

Installation Timing
When is AeroBarrier applied?
Air Barrier at Exterior
AeroBarrier is installed right before insulating, unless insulation is spray foam — in which case it is best installed after spray foam.
Air Barrier at Drywall
AeroBarrier is installed at any stage between drywall taping and drywall priming. Not suitable for occupied residences — new construction and gut-remodels only.
